Teacher's Day: Government school teachers brought more than 800 differently-abled children into the mainstream of education in 16 years

The teacher, who started providing special education to disabled children with the beginning of his career in the education committee, has brought more than 800 disabled children into the mainstream of education in 16 years. Individual attention has been given to each child by preparing a separate education plan according to their needs. Nitaben Gandhi, who was working as a special educator in the education committee, joined the school of the committee in 2010. At first, Nitaben went door-to-door and explained the awareness and school admission process to the people. She brought widespread awareness among the parents of the disabled children and the society, changed their mindset and brought them into the school to bring the children into the mainstream of education. From Balvatika to Std. Continuous support was given to the children to continue their education till 12th and to complete their studies. He said that even after Std. 12, children were given pre-vocational and vocational training so that they could be self-sufficient. Efforts were also made for occupational therapy. Also, help has been provided in conducting small and big operations for children with physical problems. Sensory learning as well as training to get employment in the future Teacher Ramchandra Sheetole has been working with children with disabilities since 2010. Their aim is to bring children with all types of disabilities into the mainstream of society and make them self-reliant. They provide various therapies to develop the physical and mental abilities of children. Such as physiotherapy, self-teaching of everyday tasks like brushing or eating, occupational therapy, speech therapy and behavioral therapy are given.
