A UK court sentenced 15 people to a total of 188 years in prison today i.e. 4 June 2026. This punishment was given in the case of sexual abuse of girls, which shook the whole world. On the same day, the UK Parliament was also read out with heart-wrenching testimonies from grooming gang victims, revealing that a girl was raped by more than 700 people between the ages of 13 and 16. The other was locked in a dog cage and forced to have sex with the animal. The biggest thing is that most of the accused are of Pakistani origin and it is called grooming gangs...

What are 'grooming gangs'?

'Grooming' is a kind of mental and emotional crime. The term is used in the UK to refer to organised gangs that rape children and teenagers:

• They lure them into their traps by luring them with love, friendship, money, or drugs.
• Then they control them by threatening, kidnapping or drugging them.
• Once the girl starts trusting them, these people isolate her from family and relatives and take her into their custody
• In many cases, the victims were subjected to obscene acts with animals so that they would be so broken that they could never complain to anyone. In the UK, such gangs have been active in cities like Rotherham, Rochdale, Telford, Oxford and Bristol for the last two decades and have ruined the lives of thousands of innocent girls.

  The hallmark of these gangs is that they do not act alone, but as a group, carry out this brutality for a long time. There is no minimum age for this crime.

  Rupert Lowe read the testimonies of many victims in Parliament, in which humanity was shamed. Here are some of the most shocking anecdotes:

  • Another victim said that she and around 15-20 girls were kept in dog cages. One victim was forcibly stuffed with dogs in her room and bets were placed on whether they could rape her. "Yes, I was raped by a dog," he said.
  • One girl told that when she was around 12-13 years old, after raping her, one of the accused forcibly put an empty bottle of whiskey inside her private part and broke it. The mirror remained inside.
  • The cross (religious symbol) of the victims was mocked while torturing them. According to one victim, white Christian girls were described as having 'low value' and 'shallow morals'.

  Case: When Governments and Police Remained Silent

  This is not just a tale of the brutality of a few gangs. This is the story of the failure of the entire system:

  • Radherham: reported that more than 1,400 children were subjected to similar abuse in the city of Rutherham between 1997 and 2013. Some of them were just 11 years old. The most painful thing was that the police, children's homes and local authorities were aware of it, yet they suppressed it and labeled the victims 'prostitutes'.
  • Rochdale: In 2012, nine men of South Asian descent were convicted of raping 13-year-old girls. In 2025, seven people have been jailed for a total of 174 years in another case in the same Rochdale for making two schoolgirls 'sex slaves'.
