'8 Passes' issue in the Assembly! Jitu Vaghani, Harsh Sanghvi double attack on Gopal Italia

During the Gujarat Assembly session, there is often a war of words between the leaders in the House. But, today the atmosphere in the House suddenly became heated when the topic of discussion diverted from the questions of the people and reached the educational qualification i.e. 'education' of the leaders. A heated argument broke out between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gopal Italia and leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the issue of Class 8 pass and college degrees. In this discussion, the talk of political values and experiences gained momentum against the arrogance of education.

Pride of

degree and sarcasm of '8 pass'

The entire controversy started when Aam Aadmi Party MLA Gopal Italia made a statement in the House about his education. "I am a graduate," he said proudly and somewhat aggressively. Not only did I study in general, but I did my BA. I have studied up to LLB. I am proud of my studies and I am not an 8 pass," he said< though it was not clear who he was referring to>

Jitu Vaghani's emotional revenge

BJP leader Jitu Vaghani gave a befitting reply to

Gopal Italia's 'pride of degree' statement. Vaghani, the former Chief Minister of Gujarat and a veteran leader of the Patidar community, was the late Vaghani. Referring to Keshubhai Patel (Keshubapa), he said, "Our Keshubapa was educated in only 4 books, yet his vision was big." Vaghani reminded Italia of the past, "When Gopal Italia needed to establish his place in politics, he went and fell at the feet of Keshubapa to seek his blessings. At that time, Keshubapa had no problem with the fact that he was less educated, so why the taunt of 8 passes today?"

Harsh Sanghvi's sharp sarcasm: 'Does LLB teach you to hit shoes?'

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi also jumped into this war of words and lashed out at Gopal Italia. Questioning the study of Italian law, Sanghvi said, "There are some so-called 'educated' people sitting in the House today. The big question is what will come in the syllabus of these graduates and BA, LLB members. Is it written in any LLB book that a shoe should be thrown at someone?" Talking about the rule of law, Harsh Sanghvi added, "When you yourself talk about the law, a shoe should not be thrown at a person." In the end, he took a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party leadership, saying, "How to divert the main issue in the House and how to divert the debate. His special training seems to have come from Delhi.'
