
Narmada Canal Water Release: The Gujarat government has taken an important decision in the interest of the farmers of the state, from next Thursday, June 11, 2026, water will be released from Narmada canals for irrigation. This decision to release water earlier than usual will bring a big relief to the farmers who are gearing up for the Kharif crop.
After the meeting, the decision was taken to release the water early.
Representations were made by local MLAs and MPs of the Narmada command area to release water early keeping in view the need of the farmers. These representations were followed by a high-level meeting with senior officials of the Narmada project chaired by the chief minister.
