Shocking results of AI driving test, 77% of four-wheeler candidates fail: Parking and can't climb the slope, new track in 26 RTOs makes the poor sweat

The number of accidents is increasing day by day. Most of the accidents are caused by rough driving or not following traffic rules. Now AI is being used in the process of issuing driving licenses so that the eligibility of the license holder can be properly checked. To make this process more effective, AI tracks have been started in 26 RTOs of the state. But a situation has been created that man is helpless in front of this machinery. On the normal track, the passing ratio on the test track was 50-60 per cent for four-wheelers. Since the start of the AI track, there has been a drastic decline in it. At present, only 15 to 20 per cent of the applicants appearing for the four-wheeler test are passing. The same situation is seen among two-wheeler applicants. Divya Bhaskar's reporter reached the test track to find out the root cause behind such a huge decline. According to the information provided by the team of officials after a few hours of inspection, the maximum number of four-wheeler riders were found failing at the signal and parallel parking. This test has 130 seconds. Most of the applicants are failing. At the same time, it has been found that some applicants are failing due to lack of awareness about the signal and non-compliance with the instructions. Despite the signal red, the four-wheeler drivers proceed for the test, but in the end the result fails. 76.81% of four-wheeler candidates fail The results of AI based tests conducted between May 1 and June 28, 2026 at 26 RTOs/ARTOs in the state have presented a startling picture. A total of 76,161 candidates appeared for the driving test, out of which 43,611 candidates passed while 32,550 candidates failed. Thus, the pass percentage was recorded at 57.26 per cent and the failure rate was 42.73 per cent. Especially in the LMV (four-wheeler) test, the result has been very poor. Out of 32,729 candidates, only 7,588 candidates have passed, i.e., the pass percentage has been only 23.18 per cent, while 25,141 candidates (76.81 per cent) have failed. 82.94% Two-wheeler candidates pass On the other hand, out of 43,432 candidates, 36,023 candidates have passed the two-wheeler test with a high pass percentage of 82.94 per cent, while only 7,409 candidates (17.05 per cent) have failed. The state government has implemented AI based automated driving test tracks to bring transparency and reduce human intervention in the driving license process, in which the candidate's performance is assessed automatically with the help of sensors and cameras. These statistics show that the four-wheeler driving test in the AI system has become more difficult and only the candidates who follow the rules are getting success. 71 out of 804 four-wheeler applicants passed in 15 days Talking about the Vadodara RTO, the AI track has been operational since June 2. In 15 days, 804 four-wheeler applicants took the test. Of these, only 71 applicants have passed. In the Normal Track, 1,410 applicants took the test in 15 days at the end of May, out of which 500 applicants passed. Applicants continue to fail in the AI test track and it is directly benefiting the government. A four-wheeler applicant pays a fee of Rs 300 for the re-test, which is directly deposited in the government's coffers. 'You can't park properly in parallel parking' Some of the reasons for the failure of the new track have also come to light. Applicants for the red signal test go ahead, even though they have to move forward after the signal is green. The vehicle fails when it returns to climb the slope. With most of the final parallel parking lots are not able to park properly and are failing due to overtime. Failing to ignore the instructions of the accompanying display. I don't know when the track starts and ends. Talking to the applicants who failed, Shivam Mistry said, "The AI track is fine, but there are no guidelines given here. At the same time, there is more traffic for two-wheelers. Which caused trouble. I don't know when this track starts and ends. These people say that if you pass or fail, they will show it there, but I stand there and show nothing. 'Confidence decreases due to waiting' With this, Hanish Rana said that after the start of this new track here, one has to stand in waiting, due to which confidence decreases. 'I took the test without watching the video and failed' Another petitioner, Shrey Patel, said, "I did not face any problem when I started, but when I went ahead, there was no green light before the box parking. When I parked the car back and moved on, it was too late when the green light came. It is difficult to track normally, here you do not know what is right or wrong. The video is shown for awareness which I was not asked to watch so I took the direct test and failed. 'Made videos for the test' He further said that in the old process, more applicants used to pass which did not have any sophisticated technology, but in this AI system, people have to give the test accurately, many videos are made for this test, which is available on YouTube and it makes it easy for the applicants. 'It is important to be aware of traffic rules' One of the main reasons for failing this test track is that applicants need to be aware of traffic rules. It is also important to know the vehicle type, it is very important to understand the videography for this track and give the test. He understood that applicants who take the test without seeing it fail in parallel parking or reverse.
