The mere mention of Gen-Z evokes images of mobile, social media and an awakened generation taking to the streets for their rights. The movement at Jantar Mantar in Delhi has seen the impact of this youth power across the country, which shows that it has become imperative to understand rather than silence this generation. This generation, which has grown up in the age of mobile, internet and AI, expects all the facilities and equal rights instead of being satisfied with traditional degrees. Due to this changed mindset and demands with time, now universities are also understanding their needs and are making efforts to provide new initiatives and facilities to attract students, connect them with the campus and prevent agitations. Students will be able to earn by working as interns
Gujarat University has started preparations to make one of the most basic needs of Gen-Z, that is, high-speed internet free of cost across the campus. Also, Gujarat University will give students the opportunity to work as interns in various departments. Students will be able to work as assistants to professors, engage in research and get practical work experience along with studies. Most importantly, the student will not only get experience. He will also be given certificates, credits and remuneration. So that the students remain connected to the campus. The plan is to provide 100 students to the entire course free of cost in Gujarat Vidyapeeth.
On the other hand, Gujarat Vidyapeeth has also prepared the scholarship process separately to keep the students connected with the campus. Scholarships are given to 100 students every year. However, students are not selected on the basis of marks alone. What the student does throughout the year and how active they are in various activities of the campus has also been given importance. In this scholarship, students are given tuition fees and practical fees so that the entire course can be studied for free. An environment has been created for the students who are more connected to the campus will get the direct benefit. Free Wi-Fi will also be available in gardens, canteens and hostels
Gujarat University in-charge Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jagdish Joshi said that the university has been experimenting with Mavtar for students in research and extracurricular activities, now there is a lot of discussion about AI and online facilities. So far, facilities like free WiFi were not available in Gujarat University for the students. Every campus has internet facility but the entire campus is not equipped with WiFi. So the entire campus is going to be Wi-Fi. Students will be able to use the internet from anywhere whether they are in class, garden or canteen or hostel. To get free WiFi, students will have to register by entering mobile and enrollment numbers. After which they will be able to use it after verification. Students will be able to use facilities including various types of information from high-speed internet. Also, there are many people in different departments of Gujarat University where we need more staff. Also, on the other hand, a good institution is not used regularly to provide internship to students. So that students can develop not only book knowledge but also skills. Students will get certificates, credits and appropriate remuneration
'Under 'Earn While You Learn', students will have the opportunity to do internships as professor's assistant or research in place of a four-credit skill development programme of Semester 6. This practical course, introduced keeping in mind the needs of the industry, will also enable students to earn by learning the work, in return they will be given certificates, credits and appropriate remuneration." "This has been started to enable students to learn practical knowledge due to complaints that they are not ready for the industry. We are also going to organize some activities that motivate students towards sports to increase their sportsmanship." 'Students who have a 7.0 CGPA can be selected'
Ajay Parikh, Dean of Gujarat Vidyapeeth, said that it has been decided to give this scholarship to the students keeping in mind the holistic criteria for awarding this scholarship. A total of 1039 students were eligible for the scholarship. In which students who have 7.0 CGPA can be selected. After which in the second phase, students who do not get any other scholarship are selected. Out of which 379 students were selected. After this, the presentation of the students is called by the selection committee of Gujarat Vidyapeeth. It is also asked to give details of the work done throughout the year. In which 139 students sent their presentations to them. "In which tuition fees and experimental fees are given to the students. So that the tuition fees and practical fees that the students have paid are returned as part of the scholarship. If the tuition fee is high, the scholarship is also given to the students. Scholarships are given on the basis of the values set by Gandhiji."
