There is a similar case of Hemant Parikh, who has been living in America for years and is a native Gujarati. A small route change and a decision to go to Mount Everest Base Camp before Kailash Mansarovar. This one thought proved to be a lifeline for Hemantbhai and his wife. He changed his plan to go on a pilgrimage to Kailash with his group at the last moment and miraculously survived. Hemant Parikh and his wife decided to gather at Saga instead of going on the route decided by the group from Kathmandu. For this, they decided to take a flight to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, which is under Chinese control. This one thought has saved their lives. While all the rest of the group with them have died. His hometown is Patan. After studying from MG Science College in Ahmedabad, he went to America in 1977 and settled there. He started studying engineering at Brooklyn Polytechnic. His masters was going on but he had to move around in a job, so he could not complete his masters. So he left his job and started a business. He is still doing business. He lives in Atlanta (Georgia), USA with his wife, two sons, daughters-in-law and their sons. His family is large. There are more than 100 people. He lives in various states like California, New Jersey, Maryland, Florida, Texas. His parents were also with him in America. He died in the year 2014. It was Hemant Parikh's dream to undertake the Kailash Yatra, so this year he set out on the Kailash Yatra. Left America 6 days early Hemantbhai was to come to Nepal with his wife and group on the 16th and on the 24th he was to leave Nepal and go to Mount Kailash, but he had to go to Mount Everest Base Camp. To go there, he had to go to Lhasa. So he needed a Chinese visa. He applied for a Chinese visa on his own and stopped going with the group as soon as he got it. On August 10, he left the United States with his wife and came to Delhi and stayed for 4 days. After which he went to Lhasa. From Lhasa, he had to go through the by-road 2-3 city and join the group in the saga. When there was a flood in Nepal, he was at Mount Everest Base Camp (Tibet side). At night, his family and friends called and informed him about the floods in Nepal. Hemant Parikh says, "We got 2-3 calls and asked if there was any problem. I didn't know then, but then I thought what must have happened to our group that was supposed to come. At that time, we did not know the seriousness of the floods. We tried to contact the members of the group, but there was no response. After that, we called the travel company and found out that everyone was trapped in the floods in Nepal. The company told us that the rest of the group would reach Saga. When we reached Saga, we found out that there was no trace of those people yet. The members of the group were waiting for visas On the 24th, his group left. The people of the group did not get visas. Their visas were supposed to come from the Kathmandu office. The travel agent told them that we would take the visa and reach the Chinese immigration center on the Nepal-China border and give you the visa before the office opens at 10 am. So the people of the group reached the Chinese immigration center and were waiting for the visa. Regarding the members of the group waiting for visas at the immigration center, he says, "The people of the group were having breakfast around 8:30 am. Some people went out for a walk. Then there was a flood and the entire Chinese immigration building was cleaned. The building was of strong concrete and was big, but nothing remained. The members of our group were in Kailash Hotel on the Nepal side. That hotel was also completely cleaned. If you go now, it does not even look like there was a hotel or an immigration office. The whole ground has been built. There is not even a trace of concrete or bricks. Most of them in their group were NRIs. Of these, 15 were from Australia, 4 from Canada and the rest from America. There were about eight families from America. There was also a family from Singapore, one from Russia and one from New Zealand. There were a total of 47 people including the staff of the Himalayan Glacier Adventure and Travel Company. They were all going to come together in the car. Still hoping for a miracle He said that all the members of the group are missing. It is not even known whether they are dead or alive. Even after so many days, there is no contact with them. The family members of the people of the group have come to Kathmandu from Australia, Canada and the United States. They are making rounds of hospitals and police stations but there is no satisfactory answer from anywhere. The only hope is that a miracle will happen and someone will find a signature safe. We saw it on the news. In which the death toll was increasing every day. "No one in our group is safe. Someone from the Nepal government, the Indian government or the American consulate tell us what happened to these people. We have also mailed and called the American Consulate and informed the Indian Embassy here. They say that the search and rescue operation is going on. The flow of the Trishuli river was so fast that debris and vehicles were all washed away, so it is very difficult to recover the bodies." The family members of the group call Hemantbhai and enquire about their relatives. Hemantbhai says, "I get calls from many people that my sister was there. My relatives were there. Do you have any idea about that? What happened to those people? When was the last time you spoke? This is what they ask me. Even the phones of our Sherpas and guides are switched off. This case between life and death is the incurable agony of a man who has survived the clutches of time.
