Ex-soldier who beat up migrant girl apologises: Says such a mistake will not happen in future, did not work with his mind, CWC-Police will interrogate

Vijay Kumar, an ex-soldier accused of tying up and beating up a 6-year-old migrant girl in Himachal Pradesh's Una district, has apologised. The accused believes that he tied up the girl and such a mistake will not happen in future. He says he didn't make sense at the time of the incident. The Una police are interrogating the accused, Vijay Kumar. The accused was taken into custody yesterday and interrogated at length. He has been summoned to the police station again today. The accused is also scheduled to appear before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in a few minutes. The CWC will also interrogate the accused, as the girl is a minor. The girl was tied to the railing of her house and beaten up by a former soldier after she was accused of stealing guava. After the video came to light, the police swung into action and registered a case against the accused and initiated action. In the viral video, it can be seen that the girl kept screaming, but the accused did not let her go. Meanwhile, Merchant Navy Captain Rohit Jaswal heard the girl crying, so he rushed to the spot and rescued the girl. Seeing the captain, the girl says, 'Save Uncle, save Uncle'. The incident took place on April 5. The girl is accused of plucking guava outside the house of a retired soldier. The ex-serviceman saw the girl plucking guava. After this, he tied the girl's hands and legs to the railing of the stairs. Una SP Sachin Hiremath said the police were acting as per the law. Action is being taken against the accused under various sections of BNS and JJ Act. The girl has been admitted to a hospital in Una.
