Rs 1.85 lakh cheated by promising reward points in credit card: Girl cheated Kalupur trader by talking in the name of ICICI Bank, got OTP and took money

Ahmedabad: An unidentified girl has duped a businessman of Kalupur in Ahmedabad on the pretext of giving 4,000 reward points in a credit card by introducing him to be from the credit card department of ICICI Bank. The girl sent the form to the trader and got the details, after which she also received the OTP. On the basis of this, Rs 1.85 lakh was defrauded from the credit card of the trader. The Kalupur police have registered a case and are investigating. Trader cheated by calling in the name of ICICI Bank Naran Purohit, who runs a clothing shop in Kalupur, received a call from an unknown girl. The girl, who identified herself as from the credit card department of ICICI Bank, said that 4000 reward points are available on the credit card, if you want to get points, you have to process. The girl sent a link asking Naranbhai to process it. OTP was given and the phone rang, 1.85 lakh was withdrawn. Naranbhai opened the link and asked him to fill in the details, including PAN card, Aadhar card, email address, address, mobile number. After which he also submitted the OTP online in the form after receiving an OTP on him. So his phone hung up. Through two separate text messages, Rs 1.85 lakh was found to have been withdrawn from his account. Naranbhai immediately informed his nephew Kuldeep. When Kuldeep came to his shop and checked, he came to know that a cyber fraud had taken place with him. Kuldeep has lodged a complaint at Kalupur police station.
