There was an altercation between some BJP workers and local residents who gheraoed the mayor's car. The mayor broke down with the car amid protests by the people.
As the matter intensified, the police nabbed around 11 people and took them to the police station. These 11 people were taken to different police stations by the police and released after being made to sit till evening, sources said. The mayor has won the election from Phulsar ward itself, but is turning a blind eye to the question of the people, which is a serious matter. It is necessary to plan immediately so that people get regular water.
