
MEA Randhir Jaiswal on West Asia: Amidst the changing geo-political equations globally, India has been proactive for its energy security and regional peace. In view of the growing tensions in the Middle East, the Government of India is strengthening its strategic relations with the Gulf countries on the one hand, while on the other hand it is giving priority to the needs of the neighbouring countries. Recently, the Ministry of External Affairs issued an official statement on the situation in Lebanon and the important steps taken in the energy sector.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "We are closely monitoring the developments in the Middle East.
