Iran-Pakistan Relations: An interesting situation has arisen in the Strait of Hormuz due to maritime security and diplomatic tensions. Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) has intercepted a ship carrying food and drinks to Pakistan. Following this incident, the bitterness in the relations between Pakistan and Iran has come to the surface again. The vessel, which was travelling under the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis, had left Sharjah in the UAE for Karachi on March 23 but was surrounded by the Iranian navy as soon as it entered the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claims that the vessel did not have sufficient permission to pass through the area and that no vessel could pass through the area without coordinating with the Iranian authorities.
