Junagadh: Amid tight police security, the residents of the city enjoyed the colour festival, garba and sweets of the Sindhi community along with the drums of Abeel-Gulal.

In the historic city of Junagadh today, the festival of colours 'Dhuleti' was celebrated with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm. The streets, streets and residential societies of Junagadh were painted in colourful colours since morning. A festive atmosphere was witnessed across the city with chants of "Bura Na Mano Holi Hai". 'Rain dances' and water fountains were arranged by the organisers in several areas of the city. Somewhere by making artificial pools and somewhere by splashing water with hose pipes, people felt cool in the midst of the heat. The pink and blue colours on the faces of the children added to the festive glow.Unique traditions and delicious food of Sindhi society The Sindhi community also played a special role in this celebration. Kalubhai Sukhwani, a prominent leader of the Sindhi community, said that today all the people of Sindhi society are coming together and celebrating the festival of colours in a traditional way. With the aim of increasing mutual brotherhood, Sindhi families celebrated this festival in a unique way by applying gulal to each other and sweetening their mouths.Confluence of Bhakti and Shakti: Chanting of 'Har Har Mahadev' Junagadh means the land of Shiva. Even amidst the colours of dust, a stream of devotion was flowing. At many places, the chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' echoed in crowds of youths. This confluence of devotion to Shiva during the Rangotsav was an identity of the culture of Junagadh. People also painted Mahadev with gulal after the traditional puja.Tight police security and peaceful atmosphere Strict security was put in place by the Junagadh police administration since morning to prevent any untoward incident. Police patrolling continued on major roads and sensitive areas. The Rangotsav celebrations were held in a peaceful and secure atmosphere across the city due to tight police deployment. People also cooperated with the police system by maintaining spontaneous discipline. Thus, the festival of Dhuleti in Junagadh was not just a festival of colours, but it was becoming a confluence of brotherhood, culture and gaiety.
