Sugarcane money of 2,500 farmers of Kantha Sugar stuck for two years On the one hand, there is joy among the farmers of Vyara, on the other hand, there is a lot of resentment among the farmers associated with the coastal sugar of Olpad, Mangrol and Hansot diocese. The Kantha Sugar Mill, which is the lifeline of the farmers of the coastal areas, has been closed for the last two years. About Rs 6 to 7 crore has not yet been paid to about 2,500 small and marginal farmers for crushing 50,000 tonnes of sugarcane, due to which the farmers are in trouble. Sweat money should be paid immediately: Farmer leader Farmer leader Jayesh Delad said, "It is very welcome that the government has decided to pay more than Rs 7 crore through DBT for the farmers of Vyara Sugar. But for the last two years, the Kantha Sugar Factory has been closed and more than 50,000 tonnes of sugarcane money is stuck. There is a lot of resentment among the farmers over the custodian committee prices. We have repeatedly represented to the sugar regulator and the government that the hard-earned money of the sons of the soil should be received immediately." Appeal to announce relief package for farmers in coastal areas Jayesh Delad further said that the way the Gujarat State Co-operative Bank has given a noble and commendable support to Vyara Sugar, in the same way the farmers of Kantha Sugar should also come to the aid of the farmers. If the members of Kantha Sugar are also paid their due money at the time of festivals, then the Diwali of thousands of families will be improved.
