Vadodara: Bail plea of Gotri rape case accused tantrik Prashant Upadhyay rejected, will remain in jail!

Prashant Guru alias Prashant Upadhyay, the main accused in the Gotri rape case in Vadodara, who is known as the tantrik of Baglamukhi Mata, has received another major legal setback from the court. The Vadodara Sessions Court has finally rejected the regular bail plea filed by the accused Prashant Upadhyay. The accused had applied for release on bail citing the reason for his elderly mother's ill health and supervision of her treatment. However, keeping in view the sharp arguments of the public prosecutor and the previous criminal history, the court categorically refused to grant bail as these reasons were not sufficient or important.

Earlier, he tried to commit suicide after getting bail

Tantrik Prashant Upadhyay has been behind bars in Vadodara since a case was registered under serious charges, including rape, cheating and intimidating a girl at Gotri police station in Vadodara. It was submitted by the prosecution that his mother should be granted bail on humanitarian grounds as her health was deteriorating. However, the court noted that this reason could not be considered sufficient for bail as other members of the family were present. The public prosecutor asserted before the court that earlier when the accused had received conditional relief, he had tried to commit suicide to evade the process of law and mislead the investigation. The court, after hearing the arguments of both sides, dismissed the bail plea outright in view of the gravity of the crime and the behaviour of the accused.

Prashant Guru used to run a dock in the name of Baglamukhi Mata.

Prashant Upadhyay has been accused of luring people into his trap by posing as the administrator of the Baglamukhi Sadhana Kendra and a Siddha Tantrik.
