Five women and two men were killed.
A total of 7 people, including Masabhai Karshanbhai Mundhwa, Jaluben Masabhai Mundhwa, Raniben Mangabhai Lambaria, and Vajiben Vibhabhai Mundhwa, lost their lives in the accident. The highway reverberated with the tragic screams of pilgrims following the accident. As soon as the incident was reported, the Lakhtar police convoy immediately reached the spot and the bodies were shifted to Lakhtar Government Hospital for postmortem. Upon learning about the incident, various community leaders, including Gedia Mahant, rushed to the hospital. The simultaneous death of 7 members of the Bharwad community has sent shockwaves through the entire Maldhari community.
