Concrete action is not taken for a permanent solution to the gulf floods. Padmashri Mathur Savani had written a letter to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel suggesting that the creek be diverted from Chhedachha village. In another letter to the Chief Minister on Thursday, MLA Kumar Kanani has written to the Chief Minister, in which it has been supported by Mathur Savani's letter and requested the Chief Minister to conduct an immediate survey as per his suggestions.
"Padmashri Mathur Savani has written to you and elected representatives, office bearers and officials of Surat. It has also given a plan to divert the gulf. I feel that a survey should be conducted on an urgent basis in this matter, the feasibility should be examined and action should be taken to see if this project is possible so that Surat can be saved from the frequent gulf floods.
