Vadodara:
The administration has not taken any lesson even after serious negligence was revealed that the administration did not take into consideration the representations in the tragedy of the collapse of the Gambhira Bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand.
Repeated representations were made for an alternative route as the collapsed Gambhira bridge was being rebuilt, and finally due to compulsion, on average, more than 800 people were making dangerous boat rides every day. Not only the boat was overloaded, but the two-wheelers were also being trafficked.
A member of the Mujpur Zilla Panchayat, who submitted that the Gambhira Bridge could collapse at any time, requested the administration to be alert about the dangerous movement of boats to Gambhira and to deploy fire brigade personnel on both sides.
