A small plane carrying tourists crashed outside the Peruvian city of Nazca on Saturday. At least 13 people were killed in the accident. According to agency reports, the plane took off from the nearby city of Ikea. The plane crashed into a field after approaching the Nazca Lines. It was on fire. There were 11 passengers on board the plane besides two pilots. Burnt bodies were found scattered near the wreckage of the plane after the crash. In fact, the 2000-year-old Nazca Lines can only be seen from a plane or a viewing tower. So the plane took off with the passengers. The whereabouts of the deceased have not been revealed. Bodies scattered in a field after Peru plane crash For 14 years, the company that had been organizing scenic flights was operating the Peruvian company 'Aerodiana', which was the victim of the plane crash. According to the airline's website, they have been using Cessna's Grand Caravan plane for the past 14 years to facilitate scenic flights over the Nazca Lines. The accident is being investigated. Aerodiana has not commented. Some of the figures are made in the Nazca and Palpa Deserts of Peru, about 400 km south of the Peruvian capital, Lima. It is believed to have been built between 200 BC and 600 AD by the people of the Nazca civilization. The dark-colored rocky surface of the desert was removed to reveal the light soil below, creating these figures. Many figures are from 100 to 300 meters and even larger. Some straight lines go for several kilometers. Why it was created is still a mystery to this day. According to scientists, it could be related to rituals, water sources, calculations of space, or culture. Due to the scanty rainfall and arid climate here, these figures have been preserved for nearly 2,000 years.
