Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. Built at a cost of Rs. 5,000 crore, this state-of-the-art greenfield airport will strengthen air connectivity and also give a fillip to regional development. "Today is a very important day for the development of Andhra Pradesh and for the vision of a golden Andhra Pradesh. I have got the privilege of coming to this holy land of North Andhra on a very auspicious occasion today, in an auspicious month. I bow down at the feet of Lord Shri Varahalalaxmina Singh Swamiji. I bow down to Sri Kurmanathaswamy and Mata Ponditalli Ammavaru. PM Modi arrived in Amravati from Delhi at 11 am. Here, he held a road show. Later, the terminal building was inaugurated. Its design is inspired by Chuttilu Cottage. "Earlier, airports were named after a single family. We changed this tradition. We named the airport in Ayodhya after Valmiki. The airport in Punjab was named after Sant Ravidas ji and this airport was named after Shri Alluri Sitarama Raju. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 18000 crore, including the Bhogapuram airport in Andhra Pradesh. After inspecting the facilities at the airport, the Prime Minister reached the venue of the rally at 11.30 am in an open car. There she was welcomed by more than 13,500 tribal women and students with the Dhimsa dance. Apart from this, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone and dedicated projects worth Rs 18,000 crore.
