Ahead of the deadline for withdrawal of forms for the local body polls, Gujarat politics is witnessing a lot of heat. The Congress has taken up 'Mission Agnyaat' at the behest of the high command to ensure that Nilesh Kumbhani-like 'game' does not recur in the battle of Surat and Rajkot municipal corporations and the BJP cannot create any kind of gap. Under this strategy, around 65 strong party candidates have been suddenly shifted to safe and secret locations and put under "house arrest" in order to maintain the loyalty of the candidates before the polls. 25 candidates from Rajkot have been taken to an undisclosed location. The atmosphere is heated over the Rajkot Municipal Corporation elections. With the completion of the form verification process today, the Congress has been forced to take the candidates to an undisclosed location till the time of withdrawal of the forms. According to the details being discussed in Rajkot city Congress circles, the remaining 25 candidates have been taken to an undisclosed location and will be brought back to Rajkot on Wednesday evening. The last date for withdrawal of forms for the local body elections is April 15. Attempts were made to suppress our candidate Rajkot city Congress president Dr Rajdeepsinh Jadeja said, "Last night, efforts were made by big heads of the BJP to suppress our candidate. So, immediately our Congress and Youth Congress teams reached the spot and asked the BJP not to bully. The BJP has been defeated, so it can go to any extent, so we have taken a special decision. Adequate preparation so that the BJP cannot draw the form by intimidating a single candidate He further said that there are 72 candidates in Rajkot. All the 72 candidates of our Congress party have not been sent to an undisclosed location. Parabatu wardwise We have given responsibility to our capable candidates and leaders. Our capable candidates and leaders will take care of the rest of our candidates. In some places, four candidates have gone to an unknown place, two candidates are campaigning in the area and two are in an unknown place. This year, we are fully prepared so that the BJP will not be able to withdraw the form by intimidating a single candidate of the Congress party. 40 candidates from Surat were also shifted to a secret location On the other hand, ahead of the municipal elections in Surat, the Congress has shifted its 40 strong candidates to 11 secret locations taking lessons from the Nilesh Kumbhani chapter. The decision taken at the behest of the high command is aimed at preventing possible contact by the opposition parties and preventing any kind of 'game' in the party.
