On March 9, a scuffle broke out between two groups of the same community living in Ranip's Balol Nagar over a minor issue, after which the matter escalated and both sides threw stones at each other. The incident took place during the night between two groups of Dantani community living in Vishwakarma Society in Balolnagar. Some people came to the house of a family living in the society and the other family protested. After which there was a quarrel between the two families. The quarrel turned violent in which members of both the families got into a fight. They pelted stones at each other near the gate of the society

PI Ketan Vyas of Ranip police station said a police convoy reached the spot after being informed about the incident. There was a quarrel between people of the same community and stones were pelted. No one was hurt. 6 people have been detained from the spot. No police complaint has been lodged in the matter so far.
