The Supreme Court is hearing cases related to stray dogs. The court discussed the behaviour of the dogs. Justice Nath said, "Dogs feel the fear of humans and therefore bite. A lawyer (in favor of the dogs) denied this. "Don't shake your head, I am speaking from my personal experience," the petitioner's counsel said. There are only five government shelters in the country. Each can accommodate 100 dogs. There is a need for infrastructure in the country. Advocate CU Singh, appearing for the animal welfare, said the removal of the dogs would lead to an increase in the rat population. To this, the court jokingly said, "So shall we bring cats? The case has been heard five times in the last seven months. In November last year, the Supreme Court had ordered the removal of stray dogs from schools, hospitals, bus stands, sports complexes and railway stations.
