This article is not an act of blind support for or opposition to any individual, political party, or ideology. Rather, it is a message intended to encourage reflection on certain events and policies that have affected the Sanatan Hindu community.
The 2002 Godhra Incident: Questions of Conspiracy
Even today, many questions surrounding the 2002 Godhra incident remain unanswered. Disclosures made by the then Home Minister Haren Pandya and police officer Sanjiv Bhatt sought to portray the incident as a conspiracy. However, following these revelations, both individuals were systematically removed through political and administrative means. This has remained a matter of serious concern for the Sanatani community.
Policies During the Tenure as Chief Minister
During Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister, no individual from the Savarna (upper-caste) community was promoted or projected for the position of Chief Minister, which led to dissatisfaction among certain sections of society. During this period, Hindu temples were demolished and grazing lands were sold. These actions were openly opposed by Shri Ashok Singhal, the then President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
The Issue of Cow Protection and Cow Slaughter
In India, the cow is central to Hindu faith. Yet, India was made number one in terms of cow slaughter statistics. This is considered painful and humiliating by the Sanatani community.
Controversies After Becoming Prime Minister
After assuming the office of Prime Minister, traditional scriptural norms were disregarded during historic and religious occasions such as the Ram Temple celebrations. Not inviting the four Shankaracharyas was viewed as a direct insult to Sanatan tradition. During the sacred consecration process of the Ram Temple, the rights of Brahmins and saints were taken away and the event was turned into a political spectacle—an impression that emerged strongly among many religious groups.
Varanasi and Its Temples
In Varanasi, ancient temples were demolished to construct a corridor, which was perceived as a form of privatization. Slogans such as “Har Har Modi” linked the name of Mahadev with political branding, which many believe amounted to an insult to Lord Shiva.
Religious Outreach or Self-Promotion?
Visiting temples to have one’s own worship performed and arranging photo sessions appeared more like self-promotion than devotion. In Sanatan tradition, leaders do not become gods; they bow before God. That boundary appeared to have become blurred.
Social Policies and the Savarna Community
After becoming Prime Minister, individuals from Dalit, Adivasi, and OBC communities were appointed as President of India and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court—moves considered appropriate for social balance. However, simultaneously strengthening the SC-ST Act against the Savarna community, expanding reservations, and denying Savarnas representation in top government positions created a sense of imbalance.
Silence in the Face of Insult to Lord Vishnu
On certain occasions, silence was maintained in the face of insults to Lord Vishnu. This raises questions against the foundational principles of Sanatan Dharma.
Conclusion
What was the objective behind all these events and policies—nation-building or personality-building? For the Sanatan Hindu community, this remains a matter of deep introspection. Hindutva is not merely a political instrument; it is a tradition rooted in culture, restraint, and sensitivity. This message is not intended to incite anyone, but to provoke thought—because only an awakened society can build a strong nation.
