US Iran Peace Talks in Pakistan: The atmosphere has become very tense ahead of the important talks between the US and Iran to be held in Pakistan's capital Islamabad on Saturday. Delegations from both countries have arrived, but Iran has made it clear that if its two key conditions are not met, then there will be no further talks. The delegation from Iran's side is led by the Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bakr Ghalibaf. The Iranian delegation has already arrived in Islamabad and is set to make its stand clear during the meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Iran has made it clear that two conditions must be fulfilled to join the peace talks -
- Full-fledged ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel
- Iran's frozen assets should be released immediately
Iran has said that without these conditions, there is no point in any further talks.
'Don't trust America'
Upon arriving in Islamabad, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bakar said; Ghalibaf made it clear that he did not trust the US. He said that in previous negotiations, despite Iran's good intentions, they were attacked and war-like conditions were created. According to BBC Urdu; Ghalibaf said, " Our intentions are good, but we don't trust the United States," he said. He alleged that during the talks, actions were taken against Iran and even war crimes were committed.
'If cheated, there will be a strong response'
Ghalibaf further said that if the US really wants a deal and recognizes Iran's rights, then Iran is also ready for the deal. But if these talks are just for the show of strength or the tactic of deception, then Iran will be fully prepared to protect its interests. The Iranian delegation also said that their retaliation in the recent conflicts is proof that Iran is fully capable of defending its sovereignty and national interests. He has made it clear that no further talks will be possible without preconditions.
