Iran, US hold 14-hour ceasefire talks: Iranian government says 'still disagreements on some issues, will resume talks after Sunday'

On the first day of the first day, two rounds of ceasefire talks between Iran and the United States lasted for about 14 hours in Pakistan's capital Islamabad. The first round of talks lasted for 2 hours. The Iranian government said the first phase had been halted for the time being. The teams of both the countries have exchanged drafts and necessary documents among themselves. There are still differences of opinion on some issues, but the conversation has not stopped. On Pakistan's proposal, both sides have agreed that the next round of talks will resume after Sunday's break. According to media reports, experts discussed issues related to security, politics, military, economy and law in the meeting. The US was led by Vice President J.D. Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Iran has demanded an immediate halt to Israeli attacks on Lebanon. This was the first time since Iran's Islamic Revolution in 1979 that the leaders of the two countries held such a large-scale face-to-face meeting. Earlier, Iran had said that if the ongoing talks in Islamabad do not reach a conclusion, then Israel alone cannot be blamed. The decisions of Israel and the United States are linked, so the responsibility for the failure of the talks will also be on the United States.
