Launch of India-Canada SME Business Council: Dr. Mukund Purohit's appointment will boost bilateral trade and investment between India and Canada

The India-Canada SME Business Council has been launched by the SME Chamber of India to boost bilateral trade and inbound and outbound investments between India and Canada. As the senior vice president of the council, Dr. Mukund Purohit has been selected. The Council will provide assistance to explore emerging business opportunities in respect of export, import, collaboration, strategic partnership for marketing, promotion, setting up of new manufacturing enterprises and business enterprises, contract manufacturing tie-up, joint ventures, technology transfer and related business activities in various industrial sectors. Giving information about this, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Senior Vice President, India Canada SME Business Council, said, Shri Mukund Purohit said that while currently playing the role of National Advisor to the SME Chamber of India, taking up the new responsibility, the Council will take initiatives to deliberate on various topics to enhance bilateral trade and diplomatic relations for the benefit of the business sector. It will also review and resolve various issues and grievances of trade policies, trade barriers, shipping, customs, logistics, warehousing, banking of businesses and taxation, shipping, customs related industry issues and grievances as well as various schemes and facilities of the various provincial governments of India and Canada. It will also provide an opportunity to bring together private sectors, government officials, banks and financial services enterprises, research institutions, education, exhibition organizers, investment boards, technology parks, chambers of commerce, associations, media, travel agencies and cultural organizations to explore collaborations and harness expertise for better growth.
