Vadodara: A 17-year-old girl from Rajasthan, who hails from Rajasthan, was allegedly abducted by a youth from a minority community in Vadodara's Akota area and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 lakh from her family. The youth called the girl to meet her and abducted her and took her to West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and then Rajasthan. Akota police also reached Rajasthan and took custody of the minor. However, the accused got down from the rickshaw and fled before the police arrived. On the basis of the complaint of the minor's family, the Akota police have registered a case and are investigating to nab the accused and have also reported to register a case of rape based on the statement of the victim. Minor's mother demanded Rs 1 lakh ransom A man named Salim alias Syed Sailab, a resident of Rajasthan's Ajmer, had trapped a minor girl in his clutches. He also sold the girl's valuable jewellery and mobile phone and in return for the release of the minor, the accused demanded a ransom of Rs 1 lakh from the minor's mother and threatened to kill the victim's mother. The police swung into action immediately after the minor's mother lodged a complaint at Akota police station. The police managed to free the minor from the clutches of the accused after a lot of struggle. At present, the police have formed different teams and set the wheels in different directions to nab the main accused, Salim alias Syed Syed. "The incident started from Rajasthan's Ajmer district. DCP Zone 2 Manjeeta Vanzara said that the entire incident started from Ajmer district of Rajasthan. The victim's mother lodged a missing case at the Ajmer police station. After a case was registered at Ajmer police station, the case came to the railway department with 'zero number FIR'. Preliminary investigation and inquiries by the railway police revealed that the incident falls under the jurisdiction of Akota police station in Vadodara. So a team from Akota police station immediately conducted an investigation. 'The victim's daughter was brought back safely' They further said that during the investigation, it was found that the victim's daughter is a minor. The accused lured the minor and abducted her. We have registered a case of kidnapping against the accused and brought back the victim's daughter safely. The arrest of the accused is currently underway. The daughter had come to her aunt's house here in Akota. Since the accused also lives in the same area, he came to know that his daughter was here. So he chased her all the way here and then kidnapped her. An in-depth investigation has been launched by the police in the case.
