A wildlife rescue worker at Shinore was bitten by a highly venomous cobra snake and died while undergoing treatment at Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara.
Anil Kanubhai, a 38-year-old resident of Rohit Vaas in Shinore Nagar, used to do fish driving business as well as work in wildlife rescue. He has also received certificates from the forest department and other agencies for rescuing wildlife. He had gone to collect paubhaji from the panchayat office of the town for his home on the evening of the 1st of yesterday. At that time, on the way, he saw a very venomous cobra snake. There were some children playing nearby, as well as people were also moving, so they tried to catch the snake before it bit someone. Meanwhile, the snake bit their yard. However, they caught the snake and imprisoned it in a jar. Later, with the help of his friends, he was taken to Motafaphalia Community Health Center, where his health deteriorated, he was taken to Vadodara Sayaji Hospital, where doctors on duty declared him dead. He was the only support in his family, a widowed mother and a younger son and younger daughter were left destitute. A year ago, Ashok Manhar Patel, who was rescuing wildlife from Avakhal village, also died of cobra snake bites.
