IAS Awanish Sharan Weight Loss Journey: In today's time, everyone wants to keep themselves fit in any way. Some people take up the gym, some run in morning and evening, while some make exercise and yoga a part of their lifestyle. Due to changing lifestyle, many diseases are on the rise today. Younger people are also facing the problem of increasing weight. Often people do not have proper information about what to eat and what not to eat. In such a situation, some people are motivating others with their fitness. One such IAS officer, Avnish Sharan, is currently in the limelight<>
Why is Avneesh Sharan in the discussion?
Avneesh Sharan shared his fitness journey on X and said that in the year 2020, at the age of 39, he decided that he would be healthier than before. It wasn't an easy start, though. Due to the pressure of work, family responsibilities and daily busyness, their routine was often broken.
His fitness journey came to a complete halt after a surgery inyear 2024. After that, from June 2025, he started afresh. This time his aim was not just to lose weight, but to make the body healthy from the inside and outside.
He made a simple but strict rule for himself — Exercising wisely, eating a balanced diet, getting a good night's sleep and maintaining this routine consistently every day
What is the secret of their fitness?
Avneesh Sharan made strength training a part of his daily routine for 5 to 6 days a week. He gradually increased the intensity of the workout to keep the muscles of the body strong.
also did cardio exercises, but kept the intensity in check. He made walking an important part of his lifestyle. At the same time, he also paid attention to the recovery and stretching of the body so that fitness can be maintained for a long time>< What is included in the
diet plan?
He did not opt for an expensive or fancy diet plan, but opted for home-cooked food. Their diet consisted of adequate protein, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, green vegetables and seasonal fruit>s<
focused on calories, reduced the intake of processed food and sugar, and made it a habit to drink plenty of water. Apart from this, 6 to 7 hours of good sleep every day is also an important part of fitness, he said><
had set a specific target for the year 2026. He decided that by the 27th of June, i.e. by the birthday of his daughter Vedika, he would achieve the best fitness regimen of his life><
health has also seen a big change
According toAvnish Sharan, the real success is not only in losing weight, but in the changes visible in the health reports
Between September 2025 to May 2026, their total cholesterol dropped from 278 to 158. LDL (bad cholesterol) decreased from 205.2 to 83, while good cholesterol (HDL) increased from 51 to 62.8
