West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has made a big statement on behalf of Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee regarding the incident of a leg injury during the assembly election campaign in 2021. He has alleged that Mamata Banerjee had just faked the injury to her leg.
He said that there is no evidence of fracture or any dislocation anywhere in his medical report released by the hospital treating Mamata Banerjee. He further said that the West Bengal government will initiate a fresh investigation into the alleged false claims of TMC chief Mamata Banerjee suffering a leg injury during the 2021 assembly election campaign in Nandigram.

He said about the action in the case that the CID is investigating the matter. A false propaganda campaign was launched. Action will be taken in this matter after October 9.

At the same time, after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari's press conference, the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) targeted Mamata Banerjee by posting a post from its official X platform handle. The BJP said in the post, ' The medical report released by the Bangur Institute of Neuroscience has finally come out, in which there is no mention of any fracture or bone dislocation. All this was a premeditated false drama to play the victim card and defame the entire community."
The party said, ' Mamata Banerjee insulted the soil of Nandigram to save her political position. She lied to the entire country, launched a false campaign to garner sympathy and defamed Nandigram. The people of West Bengal demand an apology from Mamata Banerjee for this shameful act."
