The West Bengal government on Monday released an advertisement in the state newspapers. Now a controversy has arisen over the picture of Maa Durga printed in this advertisement. In the photo, Durga is depicted with 11 arms instead of the traditional 10 arms. Now a political controversy has also arisen over this. After coming under the criticism of the government, BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya reacted and even said that Maa Durga has become more powerful. However, later he said that he has not seen the advertisement yet. According to him, if there is a mistake by any agency, it is not a political issue. The mistake will be corrected.
How did Durga become with 11 arms? TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh took a dig at the government by sharing a picture of the advertisement. He questioned that when the picture of Maa Durga has 10 arms, how did it become one arm in 2026 i.e. with 11 arms. BJP gave only one hand to the goddess: CPM CPM leader Shatrup Ghosh also attacked the government over the announcement. He said that the gods gave weapons in 10 hands to Maa Durga to kill the demon. He said sarcastically that the BJP government gave an extra hand to the goddess. Information and Culture Department issues notification The Department of Information and Cultural Affairs has informed about a coordination meeting proposed in Kolkata on Monday. The meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari with various Durga Puja committees in the city. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) and the city police are organising the meeting in collaboration with the state's Information and Culture Department.
