West Indies player injured in third ODI, taken to hospital

The third and final ODI match is being played between India and West Indies at Mullanpur in New Chandigarh. In this match, West Indies opener batsman Jewel Andrew was injured during fielding, after which he was taken to the hospital. For this reason, captain Shai Hope had to come for the opening. Now it is very difficult for Jewel Andrew to bat in this match.

During the third ODI being played on Saturday, West Indies wicketkeeper-opener batsman Jewel Andrew suffered a finger injury while taking the catch of Naman Dhir, after which he was taken to the hospital for X-ray. Jewel Andrew suffered the injury on the last ball of the 36th over of India's innings.

On the ball of Gudakesh Moti, Naman Dhir played a shot in the air towards the covers. Andrew, who was posted there, took a brilliant catch, but he was badly injured while taking the catch. After this, he had to immediately leave the field for medical help and further investigation.

After this, Cricket West Indies (CWI) said that Andrew would not be able to start the West Indies innings chasing a target of 352 runs and captain Shai Hope would take over the responsibility of opening with John Campbell. Cricket West Indies (CWI) medical update said, "Jewel Andrew has gone to the hospital for X-ray after injuring his finger while taking a catch to dismiss Naman Dhir during the Indian innings. Andrew was originally supposed to start the innings. Now captain Shai Hope will join John Campbell in the opening."

This change due to injury means that Campbell got the third opening partner in this series as captain Hope.
The Indian team, which came out to bat after winning the toss in the match, has scored 351 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The Indian team had lost 2 wickets on the score of 4. After this, Rohit Sharma took over the team with a partnership of 137 runs for the third wicket with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Rohit was dismissed for 92 runs. After this, KL Rahul played an unbeaten innings of 129 runs in 87 balls with 6 sixes and 10 fours, while Gaikwad scored 57 runs with 5 boundaries. For the West Indies, Jayden Seales took the highest 3 wickets, while Keemo Paul took 2 wickets. One wicket went to Gudakesh Moti.
