Amid scorching heat, 18 irrigation ponds in Vadodara district dried up, only 10 per cent water remained

Vadodara: On the one hand, the scorching heat has disrupted the lives of the people, on the other hand, the villagers of Vadodara are worried about the drying up of irrigation ponds, which are the basis for cattle and farmers in rural areas.

The Irrigation Department of Vadodara Zilla Panchayat maintains 18 irrigation ponds in Waghodia, Savli and Desar talukas. But this time the irrigation ponds are drying up rapidly in the scorching heat.

According to the information received, the total water storage capacity in the total 18 lakes is 916.
