Bhaskar Breaking: 2 km stretch of National Highway-27 between Palanpur Aroma Circle and Elevated Bridge declared as a black spot

There were frequent fatal accidents on the Palanpur to Abu Road National Highway No. 27 between Aroma Circle to Hanuman Hill and the newly constructed elevated bridge from there. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has declared a 2-kilometre highway black spot. Automated traffic will be regulated, including the passing of small vehicles, where a continuous service road will be built on the highway. Aroma Circle to Hanuman Hill, Bihari Bagh on Palanpur to Abu National Highway 27, three big high schools, more than 50 shopping centres, more than 10 hotels, dhabas and residential societies are located around the highway. There are crossings at Aroma Circle leading to Ahmedabad, Deesa, Abu Highway and the city. While Hanuman Hill comes to a crossing leading to the city of Egola village. Fatal accidents occur when a large number of people cross the highway on foot as well as with vehicles. Steps have been taken by the administration to prevent this. Sandeep Kumar, an official of the National Highway Authority of India's Banaskantha office, said that the 2-km highway block spot between Aroma Circle to Hanuman Hill and Elevated Bridge has been declared. Service roads and traffic regulation will be intensified to prevent accidents. More than 35 people died in road accidents in 10 years "More than 35 pedestrians and motorists have died in accidents in the last 10 years from Aroma Circle to RTO checkpost in Palanpur," said Manoj Upadhyay, a social leader from Palanpur. The decision to declare a black spot by the administration is welcome. Representations from local citizens of Palanpur for a long time have had a positive outcome. There is also a demand from the citizens for the speedy construction of an underpass on Hanuman Hill. Black spot rules to be implemented in 3 months - A 2 km service road will be constructed on both sides of the bridge between Aroma and the bridge on National Highway 27. - Bikes and small vehicles will pass on the service road on both sides so that if there is a slip, the big vehicles will not get in the way. - Testing of traffic signals has been done by Aroma Circle State Construction. Hanuman Hill has been tested by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and handed over to the signal administration. The problem of electricity connection will be resolved and restored. - Round the clock traffic will be regulated by two police and three TRB personnel in addition to the automatic traffic signal on Hanuman Hill. - Large signboards and hoardings of black spots or accident prone areas to warn motorists. - Rubber speed bumps or three-layer bumps will be made to control the speed of vehicles. - Zebra crossings, white line markings and reflectors (cat eyes) will be installed on the road. So that the road is clearly visible even at night. - Cuts of dividers on highways or main roads from where vehicles are taking illegal or dangerous routes will be stopped immediately. Bhaskar Knowledge - There are black spots in 5 places around Chitrasani in Ahmedabad to Palanpur, Balaram Bridge between Deesa, Chadotar on Deesa Highway, Gathaman Patia, Jagana Patia and S.B. Patiya on Ahmedabad Highway. The entire board has been placed on the list of black spots.
