Two thieves caught stealing from a locked house in Vapi's Dungra: Police solve the mystery of the crime on the basis of CCTV footage and seize cash

Rs. 100 crore was recovered from a locked house at Charwada in Dungra police station area of Vapi. The mystery of the theft of Rs 50,000 has been solved. The Dungra police have nabbed two hardcore burglars with contraband in a matter of days. Police have seized the stolen cash and mobile phones. The theft incident took place on the afternoon of July 30, 2026. The smugglers targeted the locked house of Kanhaiya Prasad, a resident of flat number 205 of Neha Complex in Ramwali, Charwara. The thieves broke the lock of the door and entered the house and recovered Rs 100 from the bag kept on the bedroom table. He stole Rs 50,000 in cash and fled. A case was registered under Sections 331(3) and 305(A) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) 2023 at the Dungra police station in connection with the incident. In view of the seriousness of the theft that took place during the day, Valsad district police chief Yuvrajsinh Jadeja and Vapi DYSP B.N. Dave was instructed to nab the accused immediately. As a result, Dungra P.I.B.N. Under the guidance of Gohil, PSI K.R. Separate teams of Chotalia and surveillance staff were formed. The police obtained CCTV footage from the spot and surroundings and conducted a technical analysis. In addition, on the basis of specific information received, the police nabbed both the accused from the Chheri area. The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammed Shahnawaz Razihassan Shaikh (age 20, r/o Chheri, Yadav's chawl, Vapi, née Bihar) and Tasleem alias Gota Naseem Khan (age 21, r/o Chhiri, opposite Krishna Park, Vapi, née Uttar Pradesh). Police investigations revealed that both the accused were involved in theft and other criminal activities in the past as well. Mohammed Shahnawaz is involved in two offences under the Burglary and Arms Act at Dungra police station, while Tasleem alias Gota has been arrested in four different cases of burglary in Dungra police station.
