The Pathar Gate Yuvak Mandal of Vadodara has been working for the last 54 years to make the society aware by installing Ganpati based on different themes in the celebration of Ganeshotsav. This year, the mandal has chosen a unique theme with a focus on environmental awareness and destruction of pollution, including india's national bird peacock and lotus as key elements. Through this theme, the mandal aims to motivate people to conserve the environment, plant trees and protect wildlife. Theme of Ganesh Pandal based on social issues for 54 years
According to members of the mandal, this year's theme is based on 'Destruction of Pollution and Pollution' as well as environmental awareness. In particular, they have chosen the national bird peacock and the lotus as the main elements, which symbolize the beauty and balance of the environment. "We have been establishing Ganpati every year for the last 54 years with a theme based on different social issues. This year we have chosen the issue of environment. Because, due to increasing pollution and forest destruction in the world, the condition of wildlife has become worrisome. This year's theme based on the karnataka incident
The main reason behind choosing this theme is the recent forest destruction incident in Karnataka. Where due to the destruction of trees on 7 to 8 hectares of land, the national bird peacock was the most affected. The incident has forced the mandal to think about the need for environment conservation and tree plantation. We are deeply pained to see the plight of birds like peacocks during the destruction of trees in Karnataka, so we want to motivate people to protect the environment through this theme. With peacocks and lotus at the centre in our theme, we want to show how important it is to maintain the beauty of nature. On the birthday of the youth, the resolve to save the environment
Various programmes have been organised by the mandal during Ganeshotsav with special focus on the youth. The mandal makes the youth take a pledge that they will plant at least one tree on their birthday and do whatever they can to protect and serve the birds. The resolution includes tasks such as arranging water for birds, feeding them and protecting their habitat. So far many youngsters have taken this pledge and are preparing to implement it. This initiative of Pathar Gate Yuvak Mandal is playing an important role in increasing environmental awareness in the society. Such initiatives are inspiring the new generation by linking religious festivals with social responsibility. This unique approach of Ganeshotsav can also influence other mandals and incorporate environmental issues in their celebrations.
