Rs 8.95 crore grant approved for Patan Siddhi Sarovar pipeline: Gujarat Urban Development Mission accepts proposal for Narmada water

A grant of Rs 895.63 lakh has been sanctioned by the Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM) for laying a drinking water pipeline in Siddhi Sarovar in Patan city. The proposal was submitted to the government on October 3, 2025 by Patan Municipal Corporation Chairperson Hiralben Parmar. Under the project, a pipeline will be laid from Khorasam on Chanasma highway to Siddhi Lake in Patan from Narmada drinking water junction. Water will be supplied directly to Siddhi Lake through a separate connection from the Khorsom Saraswati pipeline. The pipeline is a 1260 metre long MS pipeline. There will be a pipeline. After the grant was approved by the GUDM, the opinion of the irrigation department was sought for its implementation and functioning. The proposal with map and estimate for the project was prepared by the Irrigation Department, which has been given in-principle approval by GUDM. The grant has been sanctioned under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shahari Vikas Yojana of the government. The approval is subject to certain conditions. Patan Municipality president Hiralben Parmar had earlier made representations to the government for this work. The grant has been sanctioned after he met the minister in charge of Patan as well as the water supply minister and made repeated representations by writing letters.
