Ahmedabad : Since the beginning of March, the mercury in Ahmedabad has reached 41 to 42 degrees Celsius. In order to provide relief to motorists in this scorching heat, it has been decided to close 70 major traffic signals in the city from 12 noon to 4 pm. Green nets will be installed at about 24 places in collaboration with CREDAI and other organizations on the intersections where it is inevitable to keep the signal running due to heavy traffic, so that people can be protected from direct sunlight.
350 parks and gardens in the city will remain open till 11 am
For the convenience of the citizens, the health department in collaboration with social and religious organizations has started 350 water parbos, the number of which will be increased to more than 1,000 in the coming days.
