Ahmedabad Police: Accused of rape shot in leg while fleeing

Police have given a proper account to another beast who raped a girl in Jodhpur, Ahmedabad.   After the arrest of Dharam Singh, an accused in the notorious Jodhpur rape case, the accused was taken to Hebatpur late at night for panchnama proceedings. It was then that the accused suddenly attacked the police convoy and tried to flee. Following the incident, the police fired a bullet in self-defense hit the accused in the leg and he fell to the ground. A policeman was also injured in the scuffle between the police and the accused and the two were rushed to Sola Civil Hospital. When the accused reached the hospital, he first limped and folded his hands on the stretcher, begging for forgiveness from the police, repeating the same thing, "Sir, this will not happen again, please forgive once." Following the serious incident of firing, a convoy of senior officials, including DCP and JCP, rushed to the hospital late at night. DCP Zone-7 Shivam Verma said that both the policeman and the accused Dharam Singh were injured. Both of them have been shifted to the hospital for treatment and another case will be registered against the accused at Bodakdev police for attacking the police and trying to flee
