Multi-level parking, which has been being built for five years, stuck in heritage look: AMC's incomplete plan, people had to park vehicles on the road despite a three-storey building

Parking has become necessary due to increasing traffic problems in Ahmedabad city. However, in some places, the multilevel parking built by the AMC has failed. Because, the AMC has made a lot of planning and making parking. While the problem of parking remains the most in the Kot area of the city, a multilevel parking and a new fire station has been built behind the Danapith Municipal Corporation, but this parking and fire station has not been useful for the citizens. On the one hand, the multilevel parking in the city remains vacant, on the other hand, multilevel parking is ready for vehicle parking, but it has not started due to the need to give the building a heritage look. Motorists are waiting for when this parking will start. Multilevel parking in Kot area is much needed In 2019, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) started demolishing the old fire station behind Dana Peeth and constructing a new fire station and multi-level parking there. While this multilevel parking is very important for parking in the Kot area, the ground report of this multilevel parking was done by Divya Bhaskar. Parking is currently closed due to the work of giving a heritage look. This multilevel parking is 80-90% complete, but now the multilevel parking is incomplete as it is situated around heritage sites and is yet to be opened for public. As a result, people have to face traffic problems. Multi level parking from ground floor to three floors In areas including Manek Chowk, Tin Darwaza, Pankor Naka and Gandhi Road, where a large number of people come for shopping, the old Danapeeth fire station and multi-level parking have been demolished and rebuilt there to overcome the problem of parking vehicles when they have to go shopping in small lanes. Multilevel parking has been created from the ground floor to the three floors. All three floors of this parking lot have been completed. The third floor is currently being painted. Lift and fire facilities are being installed, but the parking building is yet to be given a heritage look. People are troubled by the problem of traffic-parking due to slow work The building was demolished five years ago and the work began in 2022. Fire stations and quarters have also been built next to the multilevel parking. The work of which has now been completed. People have been facing traffic and parking problems for over a year due to slow functioning of AMC. Letter to AMC to give heritage look of UNESCO-Archaeology Department The granary multilevel parking and fire station are within a radius of 100 to 300 metres of the heritage site. The UNESCO-Archaeology Department has now written a letter to the AMC to give a heritage look. As a result, the AMC will now work on the parking lot as it has to give it a heritage look. CEPT University has been entrusted with the task of designing the heritage look. The AMC has entrusted the task to CEPT University to design and make a mess of the Danapith Fire Station and Multilevel Parking to give it a heritage look. Once the design is ready, it will be approved by the corporation and the Danapith fire station will be given a heritage look. The entire process can take three to four months. Multilevel parking is not likely to start for the public by next April. Delay in Heritage Clearance to Build Multilevel Parking The granular multilevel parking has been embroiled in controversies ever since it was constructed. The Jumma Masjid, a heritage site in Ahmedabad, is within 100 to 300 metres of the World Heritage City. Now, due to the heritage look, people are facing parking problems due to non-availability of parking on time. People coming to the AMC office parking vehicles on the road It is worth mentioning that there is a lot of parking problem in the main office of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Cars and vehicles do not have a place to park due to which vehicles have to be parked outside. The people who come to the AMC office have to park their cars on the road outside, so the AMC officials and the BJP authorities need to understand that this parking starts very soon, but due to the slow pace of the contractor, the people who come to the AMC office still face traffic problems.
