As per the suggestion of Porbandar Superintendent of Police BU Jadeja and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ritu Raba, a special campaign is being launched against bullet bikes with modified silencers that make hoarse noise in the city. On the second day of the campaign, the traffic branch's PI M. L. Under the guidance of PSI K.B. Checks were carried out at various points in the city by Chauhan, KN Aghera and the traffic team. On the second day, 38 bullet bikes were found to have modified silencers and the bikes were detained under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Thus, a total of 75 bullet bikes have been detained in two days. The police said that this special drive will continue for the next one week. Even after the completion of the campaign, if the bikers with modified silencers are found during regular vehicle checking, legal action will be taken against them. Apart from this, if a modified silencer is found during the vehicle check, it will be removed on the spot and legal action will be taken against them. The Porbandar police have made a public appeal to the bikers not to keep modified silencers on their bikes. What is the harm of silencers?
Loud and hoarse noise causes mental stress to the citizens. The health of the elderly, children and sick persons is adversely affected. Patients, students and examinees face serious problems. It is worth mentioning that when the vehicles are detained, the drivers have to go to the RTO and pay the fine amount and from there the vehicle is released when it is presented to the traffic office. The RTO has to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000. The traffic police will also conduct surprise checks at night
The Porbandar police have appealed to motorists in the city not to have modified silencers on their bullets or other bikes and to follow traffic rules. P.S.I. K.B.Chauhan said that even at night, when the Avabullet bikers pass through in Dhoom style, surprise checks will be conducted at night as well.
