Cough Syrup: More than 600 bottles of intoxicating cough syrup seized from Network Bust, Beauty Parlour and Vatva in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad Cough Syrup Seized: In a crackdown on the illegal sale of intoxicating and banned cough syrup in Ahmedabad city, the police raided Heena Beauty Parlour and Vatva area in Tajnagarwad of Jamalpur and seized a total of 609 bottles of cough syrup. The Gaekwad Haveli police have arrested two accused named Hanif Chippa and Nihal Khan Pathan for this illegal activity

Ahmedabad city police are conducting an intensive campaign against crime and illegal sale of narcotics. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Gaekwad Haveli police conducted a surprise raid at 'Heena Beauty Parlour' in Jamalpur's Tajnagarwad. The police recovered 131 bottles of banned intoxicating cough syrup during the investigation from the place which was run under the guise of a woman's residence and business. The police team detained Hanif Chippa and Nihal Khan Pathan, who were involved in the sale and storage of cough syrup from the spot and took legal action.

Apart from this, the police also raided the Vatva police station area on the basis of a tip-off and seized a large quantity of 478 bottles of intoxicating cough syrup. The huge quantity seized in these two separate raids indicates that a large network was operating in the city to supply such syrups without medical prescription and for intoxicating purposes
