There is nothing wrong in Muslims also coming to watch Garba: Maharashtra CM's wife - What is wrong in enjoying the festival peacefully

Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said that there is nothing wrong if Muslims also come to watch garba. Festivals should take everyone along. Amruta arrived at the Rudrabhishek ceremony held at the largest Mahashivling temple in Chandrapur on Tuesday. She said this in response to a question on the statement of Minister in the Maharashtra government Nitesh Rane. Rane had opposed the entry of Muslims in garba events during Navratri. Regarding DJs during Ganeshotsav, Amruta Fadnavis also commented on the ongoing controversy over DJs and loud music during Ganeshotsav. He said that while celebrating the festival, everyone should follow the rules set by the government and the courts. He said that it is important that there is no inconvenience to other citizens of the society or area due to our festivals. It is good to follow religion at home as much as possible; But it is necessary to follow the rules while celebrating the festival in public places. Nitesh Rane alleges love-jihad In an interview to news agency PTI on Monday, Rane said, "Some Muslim youths enter garba events by saying Hindu names or pretending to be Hindus, apply tilak on their foreheads and trap Hindu girls by contacting them. He termed it as a threat of 'love jihad' and demanded that Muslims should not be allowed to participate in garba events for the safety of Hindu girls. He also supported the demand of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) that those who do not worship idols should not participate in Hindu religious events. People will have to show their identity and recite Hanuman Chalisa before entering every garba ground. VHP announces no entry to Muslims in garba The VHP has announced 'no entry' to Muslims in 'garba' and 'dandiya' programmes in Maharashtra during Navratri starting October 11. The VHP has appealed to the organisers to check the Aadhaar cards of the participants at the entrance and apply a tilak on their foreheads so that only those with Hindu identities can enter.
