Vadodara: Chinese and nylon threads for flying kites have been banned by the police. As well as the rules for preparing the thread have also been announced.
Flying kites on public roads, loud loudspeakers, provocative writings on kites, running to catch kites, using Chinese thread to fly kites, flying Chinese tukkals, fodder for cows on public roads have been banned. While the police have also issued rules for the strings that are prepared for kite flying. According to the rules, the amount of glass in the string used for kite flying during the Uttarayan festival should be only up to 0.05 per cent of the total weight of the manja.
