Narmada district is a neighbouring district of Maharashtra and is currently battling bird flu in Navapur and Nandurbar areas. Residents of Kalka Mata Road area have submitted a memorandum demanding the closure of poultry farms near residential areas in Sindhiwad area of Rajpipla city with immediate effect. Residents of Rajpipla Laltavar Kalkamata Road have submitted a memorandum to the district administration stating that illegal poultry centres are running in their residential area. Despite informing the health office, municipality and provincial authorities in the past, they do not take any action on this poultry farm. The poultry farm is spreading filth and there is a threat of epidemic and appropriate action will be taken. Earlier, the municipality had taken punitive action, but now the situation is the same again. At present, the havoc of bird flu is going on from Navapur to Nandurbar and the people of our area are in fear. Illegal poultry farms operating in residential areas need to be permanently shut down at the earliest. We demand immediate action and permanent closure of the poultry farm. The SDM personally visited the Sindhiwad area after the residents of the locals and assured to take appropriate action.
