If there is a mistake in the measurement of your agricultural land and you are tired of making rounds of government offices to rectify it, then there is good news for you. Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel has taken a very important decision in the interest of farmers and rural citizens. A uniform system called 'Land Delimitation' will now be implemented across the state to rectify the errors in the villages where promulgation of land has been completed. The decision will ensure speedy and transparent resolution of farmers' grievances, which will also give a big boost to 'Good Governance' and 'Ease of Doing Business'<>
special 'Land Delimitation Committee' will be formed at the district level
CM has given clear directions in a high-level meeting of the Revenue Department that a 'Land Delimitation Committee' headed by the Collector should be formed in each district. This committee will directly monitor the land measurement and correction of errors in their district. Apart from the Collector, the committee will also include the Resident Additional Collector, Deputy Director of Land Records (SLR), Provincial Officer, DILR, Mamlatdar, Taluka Development Officer (TDO), Land Acquisition Officer and representatives of Sardar Sarovar Rehabilitation Agency
7 categories for speedy disposal of applications
In order to avoid confusion and systematic disposal of applications for rectification of missing land measurement errors, the Department of Revenue has divided such applications into 7 different categories:
- Government or public interest land should not be diluted and there should be no objection.
- Government land should not be reduced, no objection should be left and the account holder should not have any problem.
- Government land may not be reduced, but objection petitions are pending.
- Government land has been reduced and objection petitions are also pending (this has been named as 3A category). More than 30% of the survey numbers of the
- village have been changed (Aval-Dawal).
- village objections should be confined to a particular area.
- 30% of the numbers have had a cascading effect, or have not yet been promulgated.
Now the officers will come from the front: 'Mobile Magistrate Court'
The best thing about this decision is that the farmer will not have to go to the office for solving complex land survey issues. The Chief Minister has given more powers to the Taluka Development Officer (TDO) and Mamlatdars. Now a 'Mobile Magistrate Court Committee' will be formed, which will go to the spot and take legal action as per Sections 119, 120 and Rule 21 of the Gujarat Land Revenue Act. This will save both people's time and energy and bring transparency in the administration.>
