Cold wave hits south Gujarat, mercury plummets: Surat records minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, Navsari records 17.5 degrees Celsius

The cold wave has returned to South Gujarat. After feeling mild cold during the day, the chill increased as the evening wore on. Due to which people were forced to wear warm clothes. Residents of Surat city also said that they had experienced such cold after a long time. On Saturday, Surat recorded a maximum temperature of 29.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 16.0 degrees Celsius. The humidity was 86 per cent in the morning and 64 per cent in the evening. In addition, cold winds were blowing at an average speed of 6 kilometers per hour. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the intensity of cold is likely to increase for the next one to two days. The night temperature is likely to hover around 15 degrees Celsius to 17 degrees Celsius. Navsari recorded a maximum temperature of 30.0 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 17.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The humidity was 95 per cent in the morning and 49 per cent in the evening. Wind speed was recorded from north to east at 3.4 kilometers per hour. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the mercury will remain stable in Navsari for the next one day.
