A complaint has finally been registered under POCSO against a youth from Patan who married the minor on the basis of the school's LC. After luring a teenager from Mehsana and running away, the youth got married at the Ramji temple in Harij on the basis of the LC and also got the marriage registered. However, the father lodged a complaint at the Mehsana B Division police station after it was found that the girl was two months younger than the age of 18 years in the case of her birth. Thus, the LC arranged the marriage of the two youths and the girl, while the first incident of separation of the two by the date of birth reached the police book. On September 7, 2026, a 17-year-old and 9-month-old girl living with her family in Mehsana city was lured away by Darshan Naresh Kumar Rawal, a resident of Patan. He then got married at Ramji Mandir in Harij on the basis of the girl's LC and got the marriage registered. Meanwhile, following pressure from social leaders, the two appeared at the Chanasma police station on September 17. From there, Darshan Rawal handed over the girl to her family. After returning home, the father checked the birth certificate and found that the daughter was below 18 years of age. Therefore, he lodged a complaint against Darshan Rawal at the B Division police station. Police have registered a case under provisions including POCSO and further investigation is on.
