Amid the threat of rains in Dang, the district administration has taken a strict decision: Entry to all water bodies, including rivers, waterfalls, lakes, etc., has been banned till July 22.

The district administration has taken an important decision to prevent heavy rains and drowning incidents in tourist places in Dang district. The Additional District Magistrate has issued a notification under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Suraksha Code-2023 (BNSS) and imposed a complete ban on entry and all activities in all rivers, waterfalls, lakes, check dams and other water bodies in the district. The ban will remain in force till July 22, 2026. According to the notification, during the monsoon, there is a sudden surge in the flow of water in rivers and waterfalls, posing a serious threat to the lives of tourists and locals. Incidents of drowning have been reported in various parts of the state as well as in Dang district recently. In view of this situation, this restrictive measure has been taken with a view to avoid any loss of life. During this ban, no person will be allowed to enter rivers, waterfalls, lakes, check dams or other water bodies, bathing, swimming, taking selfies, photography or any other activity including boating. The district administration has appealed to the tourists and local citizens to strictly adhere to the notification and give priority to the safety of themselves and their families. The administration has made it clear that legal action will be taken against the person violating the notification under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code-2023 (BNS). District police, revenue department, forest department and other concerned departments have been instructed for effective implementation of the notification. Regular patrolling and surveillance will be done at the tourist destinations. The district administration has appealed to the tourists visiting all the tourist places in the district including Saputara, especially during the monsoon season, to stay away from dangerous places, follow the instructions of the authorities and give top priority to safety. Officials believe that precious human lives can be saved by preventing potential accidents only with the cooperation of citizens.
